Mark your calendar and plan to join us for a spectacular weekend of music, art, and history celebrating our long tradition of diversity and inclusion!


Our schedule of events:

Saturday, October 17: 10:30 am—4:00 pm
10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Church Vestments Exhibit  A number of new and antique vestments will be on display and former fashion industry professional Steve Leavitt will be on hand to share information and answer questions.

10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Theatre Archives Exhibit The Episcopal Actors’ Guild invites you to
take a peek inside their archives featuring memorabilia from George Holland, Joseph Jefferson,
and Edwin Booth, and other famous actors associated with the Church of the Transfiguration.

10:45 a.m. History Tour celebrating the Church’s 178 years of diversity and inclusion. Hear about the Underground Railroad, the Draft Riots of the Civil War, the “Sweet Low, Sweet Chariot”stained glass window, the church’s special relationship with the theatre community, and more.

11:45 a.m. Family Concert by Dr. Claudia Dumschat, Director of Music, performing some best- loved organ pieces on our magnificent Fisk organ, with special activities for children.

1:15 p.m. Theatrical Tour by Eric Stamm, Archives chair of the Episcopal Actors Guild. Learn How the Little Church has  opened their doors to the theatre community (and everyone else) throughout its history. Meet your tour guide in the chapel near the entrance.

3:00 p.m. Piano Concert by world-renowned artist Matei Varga playing our sumptuous Bosendorfer grand piano (once owned by William F. Buckley!). He will perform several classical works and share his insights on the various pieces.

Sunday, October 18 – 12:30 – 3:00 p.m.

12:30 p.m. Guided Tour in Spanish/Visita guiada en español

1:00 p.m. Guided Tour in English

1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Arts Activity – Join Windchime Arts Collective for a fun arts trading card activity! All art supplies will be provided; just bring your creativity. Keep your creations or trade them with others participating. Windchime is a nonprofit artists’ cooperative currently in residence at Houghton Hall Arts Community.

2:00 p.m. Broadway Celebration in Song! Enjoy the talents of the many professionally-trained singers associated with the Church of the Transfiguration, EAG and HHAC. Be prepared to be inspired!
